The Birdman

The Birdman is an old drawing that I transferred on to Plexiglass to to make a print. This was done at a workshop at Self Help Graphics in East L.A. earlier this year. Although I was hoping to do intaglio print making that day I had a great time anyway. The second is an image I have been playing with the last couple of days changing up mediums from water color on wood, to watercolor on paper, and an attempt at creating a print. This was an attempt at getting my toes wet to start print work again. Lets see how long it takes.

HEART AND SOUL

This painting was inspired by my daughter Maritza. Someone took it off the table during an event in Pasadena, Pasadena One City, One Story header
ArtNight / Kick-off Night. It saddens me to think that someone would be so bold as to walk away with someones work. On the back are written the words "Mi Alma," my soul because that is what Maritza is to me.

PALM SPRINGS ART MUSEUM AND PACIFIC ASIASN MUSEUM / PASADENA **** WORK IS GOOD

And I'm exhausted. But it is great to be working. Every time so much is learned. From working with so many different types of people, to realizing my own limitations , for thinking I can do everything that comes my way and then actually doing it. Celebrating every moment as it should be and critically analyzing how to make it better still, from laughing (nervously) at the prospects and being grateful for the opportunity. Never taking for granted the gifts that come with opportunity and trying to remember to give it more. The latest work Museums and workshop/ demonstration.
